Since 1983, SAHF has collected in the United States nearly $400 million worth of humanitarian assistance. This aid has been distributed, free of charge, by our in-country sister organization, FUSAL, to 34 hospitals, 263 clinics, 267 health posts, 93 orphanages and nursing homes, 2,500 health promoters and 11 Private Voluntary Agencies that cater to the needs of El Salvador’s poorest citizens. SAHF’s reputation and reliability with U.S. world relief organizations allow for the collection of large amounts of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and equipment-for use where the need is great. In addition to the broad array of health and human service agencies receiving SAHF’s shipments, the Foundation’s ever-expanding programs requires a steady increase in supplies to reach the outlying populations where the poorest and most needy Salvadorans live.
