Race for the Americas (RFA) is a Pan-American movement created to confront the great educational needs facing children throughout the Americas.
US based charitable organizations, 501 (c) (3) tax exempt, operating across the Americas have joined forces to organize a 5K/10K race in order to raise funds for educational efforts in the countries represented. RFA participant organizations recognize education as one of the most critical tools in the battle against extreme poverty, pledging all proceeds to programs they currently administer benefitting children in need.
Your support will help RFA organizations ensure beneficiary children receive a quality education by providing books, school supplies, meals-at-school for tens of thousands of children.
The poor and marginalized children of the Americas find themselves on the brink of disaster. These children are deprived of their right to education either because their families cannot afford the related costs, or because their communities are too poor or remote to have school facilities and supplies, or because they have to work to put food on the table.
Civil conflicts and humanitarian crises are also depriving these children of the right to education. Young children often bear the brunt of these problems. They are the first to be withdrawn from school if money is short or if household work needs attention, if family members need to be cared for, if the school is too far away, and in situations of pervasive insecurity.
What this translates into in real terms?
The hope and promise of a new generation is largely lost
This is why non-profit organizations across the Americas have come together to form "Race for The Americas". RFA was created to mitigate this need as well as to create international awareness concerning the plight of our children. This race represents the collaboration of five leading not-for-profit organizations actively working in the Americas to empower children to enjoy healthier and brighter futures.
With your participation you will help RFA organizations ensure beneficiaries receive a quality education by providing books, school supplies, meals-at-school for tens of thousands of children.
